About five years ago we moved to Turkey so that we could get away from
the hustle and bustle and the hectic lifestyle of Glasgow.
After living in a villa overlooking Oludeniz beach we decided we
loved it here however we wanted to be somewhere which had complete
peace and little or no traffic but within easy reach of the town of Fethiye
and the resorts. We then found the ideal place with a beautiful view of
the ruins and built a small pension in Kaya village where the only traffic
is a boy who rides a donkey down the road twice a day and a herd of goats
or sheep pass about once a week, here we have a real retreat enabling
anyone to escape from the rat race. All the furniture and doors have been
locally hand made of wood and as much stone and wood as possible has been
used in the construction so that although new everything blends in with
the surroundings.
The gardens and terrace are private and secluded and surround a
large swimming pool which is to a depth of 2.4 Meters at the deep
end for ease of instructing diving. At the end of the garden we
built a kosk (a traditional Turkish seating area for relaxing). We also
have a Bar-B-Que, for anyone who prefers to stay at home rather than sample
the local restaurants. We are obviously part of the community in the village
and so can advise all the best local restaurants, all with free local
transfers, but I’m
sorry don’t expect “Fish chips n mushy peas” unless you
go to the nearby resort of Hisaronou.
The emphasis here is on complete relaxation for adults in a child
free environment as such we only built three rooms with a maximum
capacity of six people.
I hope you’re all animal friendly as we have four cats and a Scottish
dog who has traveled all the way from the Outer Hebrides, if he can do it
so can you, hope to see you soon.
